Oreo Churro Recipe

I been wanting to do some tutorials on food and desserts for a while now so that's why you have been seeing more food in my blog lately, but I will be getting back to sewing/crafting soon. I will be sharing a lot of the foods I have been making over the last 10 years that I've been married to Erik. So i'm going to have a separate pull down tab at the top of my blog for food but, on to today's blog post...

Oreo Churro Recipe

First you need to separate all of your oreo cookies, filling goes in one bowl (try your hardest not to eat them, it's so damn hard) and cookies go in another bowl.

place your cookies in a food processor and go crazy crushing them up into bits

place your pot over medium high heat, then pour your water in along with your butter, bring to a slight boil

now you want to place 1/3 cup sugar, and 1 cup flour in to the pot, stir.

Next place 2 cups of oreo crushed yumminess into your pot

like so

Stir like a mad women, now you crack your 2 eggs into your oreo churro batter and finish stirring like a hot mess.

This next step is where things went kind of side ways for me, I forget to get piping bags. So I took one of my decorative tips for when I piped out the batter it would actually look like a churro but ummm yeah lol. I placed the tip in a sandwich baggy and it popped right out and the batter went EVERYWHERE, so I just placed it in another bigger baggy and cut the tip smaller and it just squeezed right out into lines about 4 in long.

You have to make sure you FREEZE them on your cookie sheet for at least 20 minutes.

After you take them out of the freezer they will be good enough to take a spatula etc and scrap them off your parchment paper to place in the oil.

I used coconut oil but you can use any oil you want to fry them in, you want to fry them for only 2-3 mins on each side, they cook fast.

Now you take your left over oreo crumbs which was probably 2 cups and the 2/3 cup sugar stir and you have your churro coat.

Sora helped me roll the churros in the yummy sugar coat, she had fun helping. Chloe and Trent were to busy playing with this wubble bubble thing they just got lol

for the whipped cream you take 1 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream and whip it, whip it good.

half way through I added the 1 tsp vanilla and the oreo filling then just finished whipping it.

I actually used the birthday oreo filling OMG now that shit is gooood

After your done whipping it up you want to place the whip cream in a mason jar, so then you can store it in the fridge for a while without it going bad.

This whipped cream is so good Sora hates whip cream, and she loved it.. Erik, Chloe, and Trent were all eating it by the spoon full lol it's really good and SOOO easy to make.

Place some whipped cream on top of your churro and enjoy you won't just stop at one that's for sure.

I showed you that even though these churros don't look like normal "churros" they are still just as delicious and easier to make for people who don't have the decorative tips etc.

I also have so much batter left over I just placed the bag of churro batter in a Tupperware bowl and placed in the freezer, so now I can make more another night.
