Pattern Parcel #4: Boy's edition (schoolboy Vest)
I was suppose to have this blog post up on Saturday but I had to take a little down time still trying to recover from my surgery, so i'm here finishing everything up and excited to show you all what I have made while just having major surgery. I feel like I can concur the world now, feel so much better :o).
I'm so excited to show you all about BOY's clothing patterns because, every little boy needs handmade goodies as well as the girls, and these staple pieces will be the highlight of their wardrobe. I know it will bring a smile to your face when they look absolutely adorable in the clothing you just made for them and they're excited to wear each piece.

The pattern parcel: boy's edition comes with 6 pretty amazing patterns that are staple pieces of any wardrobe.
Pattern Parcel #4 includes:
Maxwell Top by Shwin Designs
Zippy Jacket by Blank Slate Patterns
Schoolboy Vest by Sew Much Ado
Small Fry Jeans by Titchy Threads
Jet Back Bag by Betz White
For the next couple of weeks i'm going to show you each of the 6 patterns but remixed to show how versatile each pattern truly is and how each piece can be the staple of the entire outfit.
Today i'm showing you all the Schoolboy Vest by Sew Much Ado I love how you can go in so many different direction with this staple piece. You can keep it very simple or play it up and add so many fun pieces to the Schoolboy Vest. I'm showing you how I remixed it in to a fun playful put yet still preppy boy look, I truly love how it turned out.
I first picked out my fabrics the main fabric is a sweatshirt fabric and the lining is a thicker fabric with structure, I then thought let spice this fabric up with some hand painted lightening bolts made from a potato (which I almost cut my finger off making whoops). Next I added sleeves and then added a collar piece to truly show how far you can go which this great pattern.
I hope you enjoy what I made and all 6 designs will be remixed by me in the next couple of weeks I can't wait to show you everything I thought of, while thinking how important each piece is in your boys wardrobe.

My Version of the Schoolboy Vest...
I added studs to the faux welt pockets
As well as one stud to the back of the collar.
Instead of buttons I put a zipper in :)
I completely LOVE how it turned out and Trent didn't want to take it off when we came back in from 100 degree weather ( I live in AZ). For being 2 and wanting to take off any chance he can get he looks awful cute in these pictures, I love my baby boy oh so much!
If by chance you want a tutorial of the extra things I added to it feel free to email me at amanda.widmayer@gmail.com and I put one together after I do all 6 of the patterns :)
