print the pattern and cut them out
cut out your fabric pieces (the elastic is in the picture because I was going to use it on the skirt, but didn't in the end)
put arms and legs right sides together sew and flip right side out, you can also iron flat after flipping right side out
now for the hair I wanted something new and different so I added highlights
hand stitch a bunch of rows on the front of the head and curls on the back
now sew your head on to your body pieces like so
now for the not so fun part shoving everything in that little body and some how sewing around leaving an opening at the head to flip right side out, you really got to squish everything in there good..
should look like this when flipped right side out, now stuff stuff stuff and also before you put your arms and legs on you want to stuff those first..
now pin the top of the head and top stitch it (I think that's what it is called)
and for the face I used a permanent mark for the eyes and nose, red glitter glue for the lips and actually blush for her blushy cheeks...
the skirt I just cut the two piece of fabric out put both sides right side together sewed them up. Then sewed both the bottom and tops for a finished look and put it right on her it fits perfect with out elastic easy peasy
And your little cutie is done go wrap her up and put her under the tree or just give it to the little girl in your life right away for a cute surprise
For Personal use only
Hope you enjoyed

This is a great tutorial. Thanks so much for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteI hope this doesn't sound like spam, but the easiest way to make a pdf is to download a program called cute pdf. Once you install it, your computer thinks you have a imaginary printer.
For any file that you want to be a pdf, just hit print, choose "cute pdf" as the printer ... then instead of paper coming out you will get a window asking where you want to save the file.
Quick and easy - and perfect for any file with finicky formatting!
(ps I found my way here from "Sewing in No Man's Land")
Me and your blog? Love at first sight! I am so glad I found you! I just showed my daughter this doll and we can't wait to get started!
ReplyDeleteActually, I'm known for saying that "my skills start and stop with a gluestick" but I want my children to learn these skills, so we are learning them together. We don't have a sewing machine, we're still just learning the basics, but they are loving it and so am I!
I'm now following you through the Swingin' by Sunday Blog Hop. I hope you'll do the same! You can find me @ http://sofiasideas.com/
