Love me some leg warmers

Okay lets start off by saying I love leg warmers for the girls but half the time they want to rip them off well at least chloe anyways Sora doesn't seem to mind to much about them okay lets get started

you want to buy knee length socks any kind any color go wild I bought these at rue 21 a couple weeks ago for a dollar set of two.

next takes your sock lie them next to each other

then you are going to cut the toe and heal part off (the black parts on the bottom of your foot)

next step you want to discard the black pieces and take the striped small piece and fold in half so its looks like so.

it's okay if the edges aren't straight and what not you wont be able to see shortly unless its like a design that has to match up perfectly then try your hardest on the next step to line the piece up correctly

this step I took a couple of pictures to get what I did so you take the fold piece and wiggle it on top of the sock so both raw ends are together like so

does this make sense if not just write me and i'll try and explain it better heres another pictures to show the fold part is on the bottom

i lifted it up to kinda show you see get it?

next i just sew around the pieces use a zig zag stitch i also like to do a straight stitch for durability

it should look like this when done sewing
another pic of me flipping right side out

And Viola you are done all three of these leg warmers took about 10-15 very easy and everyone will ask where you got them and you can say I MADE THEM!!! :)

well I hope you liked it if there is any questions I would love to answer them, I must go for now but i'll be back don't you worry. with more fun stuff to make I think its a swimming kind of day!! :)

  1. LOVE the piano ones! I just made a pair of 'baby legs' for my 6month old yesterday. Can't wait to make more. Hopefully she will still like them when she is bigger too!

  6. Ok, that is too too cute! I wonder if my daughter could be convinced to wear them? She has recently decided that skirt are unacceptable because they lack pockets! I need to go back and sew in pockets to all the skirts I've made her (probably 15 or so! Ack!) Anyway, fab idea! :)

  19. I picked up a bunch of fun adult-sized knee socks for $0.50 each at Target and am making leg warmers for my daughters right now. So fun! Tomorrow morning it will "only" be in the low 70s (but back up to 90s in the afternoon) so the legwarmers will be used for our "chilly" walk to school. Thanks for the tute!
