Mermaid dolly ~ tutorial

My daughter Chloe turned 4 today oh how I love her and how time just flies by it's crazy to believe she will be in school next year my babies are all grown up already. Chloe is really into mermaids at the moment along with barbies and princesses, so which leads me to make her a mermaid dolly for her birthday. I drew up the pattern and idea in my sketch book and went from there so here is a tutorial of a little mermaid dolly maybe you can make one for a girl in your life. (and once again horrible picture from my point and shoot, I pray to whatever is up there I get my rebel back soon).

Penelope the Mermaid

if anyone would like the pattern I could make one in pdf just let me know

cut out all your pieces out, I sewed the fins on to the body, and cut the face and hair out of felt

I hand stitched the face and hair on to the front of the dolly, you could always use a sewing machine to do this as well

hand paint her face with fabric paint.

now you take your piece pin right side together and sew around leaving an opening to flip right side out

flip stuff your dolly sew up the opening and your done easy peasy. You can tell in this picture the end of her hair I cut little slits in it so it fringes out. Chloe loved it she opened it today.

  5. I would love to have a pdf copy of this pattern. I think it is absolutely adorable. I think my 11 year old daughter would love to practice her sewing skills and make one of these for her 6 month old sister.
